Point Fermin

Point Fermin in San Pedro is a pretty park on the bluffs which happens to be home to a lighthouse and a little amphitheater. 807 W. Paseo Del Mar where Gaffey Street meets Paseo Del Mar at the park. The area is made up of several parks such as Angel's Gate, Wilder Addition, Joan Milke Flores Park, and Point Fermin Park. Parking at Point Fermin Park is free. There are plenty of grassy areas to play on and picnic on under giant shade trees. There is a structure in the middle of the park with restrooms. There are also plenty of places to look over the short concrete fence at the harbor and ocean. The concrete path around the park leads away from the park near the front of the lighthouse, turns into a sidewalk along Paseo del Mar, and leads you to an entrance to a short, dirt hiking trail down to the beach. The sidewalk along Paseo Del Mar also shows the entrance to Joan Milke Flores Park across the street and the short trail up to the Korean Friendship Bell.

Point Fermin Lighthouse - Located inside of Point Fermin Park along the bluffs. The grounds are marked by a perfect white picket fence that surrounds it and it is open the same hours as the park - from Sunrise to Sunset. The lighthouse itself is only open from 1 pm - 4 pm, Tuesday through Sunday. There are free tours of the lighthouse at 1 pm, 2 pm, and 3 pm during its hours of operation. The lighthouse is not operational as it is now a museum. The original Fresnel lens used to light it is on display inside of the main residence as an exhibit.

Point Fermin Lighthouse

Point Fermin Amphitheater - A little stage inside of the park with benches and a big grassy area to bring chairs or blankets to sit on. During the summer, various concerts and events are held at the amphitheater such as Shakespeare by the Sea, Music by the Sea, and Light at the Lighthouse Music Festival. These events are all free to the public to come on down and enjoy.
