There is a parking lot adjacent to the pier that charges $10.00 per entry. There is also metered street parking available on PCH, but parking can get tough on weekends and holidays. Additionally, there is a parking lot between the historic Adamson House and Surfrider Beach which is on the North side of the Pier. Rentals are available at the Malibu Surf Shack across the street for body boards, surf boards, paddle boards, kayaks, and wetsuits if you want to head over to Surfrider for some fun in the surf.

Malibu Pier Restaurant is at the location near the entrance to the pier. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating (with umbrellas for sun protection). Both are a little pricey, but not unexpected since your are in Malibu by the beach. There are a couple of other places to eat nearby. The Malibu Inn which is directly across the street from the pier as is Jack In The Box - for Fast Food. The Whale watching and coastal tour operators as well as Malibu Sportfishing Excursions have put their boating trips on hold until repairs are made to their landing facility at the pier which was heavily damaged following a large swell on Labor Day weekend 2011.
The entrance to the pier looks like a fortress from the exterior with 2 large swinging doors that are open with a picture perfect view of the 780 foot length of the pier. You can see the American Flag and shop and cafe locations at the end of the pier. The Malibu Pier operates under the State of California Department of Recreation and Parks.
