Malibu - El Pescador State Beach

El Pescador Beach Location - El Pescador State Beach is located North of Zuma on Pacific Coast Highway past the other 2 Robert H. Meyer State Beaches: La Piedra and El Matador. The entrance to the parking lot is on Pacific Coast Hwy South of Decker Canyon Rd. If the tiny parking lot is full, there is free parking available on PCH on the Northbound side - parallel park and be careful crossing PCH. Walk down the path to the parking lot. If you do park in the lot, the fee to park is $8.00 and permit is valid until sunset. The machine that issues the parking permits takes coins, dollars, and credit cards.

The parking lot at El Pescador is located on the bluffs above the beach. There is a port-a-potty near the parking lot, but there are no showers and no places to change clothes. Also, there are no concession stands in the area. From the end of the parking lot follow the trail that goes right and head down the trail past the rock monument that leads down to the beach. There are some old wood "steps" near the bottom, so watch your footing going up or down the path in this spot.

The beach has nice soft sand beach to enjoy the ocean breezes and the waves. There are some rocky areas with tide pools to explore at nearby La Piedra Beach (around the corner of the South end of the beach), so bring Teva water shoes or athletic shoes to protect your feet while you explore the rocks. You can get to the stairs at La Piedra during low tide if you keep walking.
