Balboa Pier is located towards the end of the Balboa Peninsula off of Main Street and E. Balboa Blvd in Newport Beach. Parking here is $1.50 per hour with a maximum of $15 per day - on Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day, the parking fee is a flat $25 per day. The pier has a Ruby's Diner at the end which offers some terrific views while dining there. The restrooms and showers are clean and tiled - very upscale! Pier Plaza and the Newport Balboa Bike Path are also tiled and lined with palm trees and look very upscale as well. This pier is located next to many shops, restaurants, and the Balboa Fun Zone where there is a Ferris Wheel, merry go round, boat rentals, and an arcade. Also, there are plenty of shops to rent bicycles and surreys from if you want to ride the bike path.

Balboa Pier has many spots along the sides to fish. There are spots to put your fishing poles and benches and little fish cleaning stations along the railing. A fishing license is not required in California if you are fishing on a public pier. You may even spot a sea lion around the pier proving that this is a great spot to fish!
