Venice Beach Art Wall

The Venice Beach Art Walls are located next to the Venice Beach Recreation Center at 1800 Ocean Front Walk in Venice. They are near the Skate Park and were managed by ICU Art - In Creative Unity until September 3, 2012. The walls were closed briefly until September 30, 2012 when STP (Setting the Pace) and Canlove partnered with the City of Los Angeles to take over ICU's management of the permit process.

The artists are allowed to paint on the walls after obtaining a permit (cost is Free) but have to follow certain rules such as minors can use only rollers or brushes to paint and the content can not contain profanity or any other inappropriate speech. Painting is only allowed on Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 am to one 1/2 hour prior to sunset and the last paintings up are displayed all week. The artists have to wear their permit while painting on the walls and permits can be Limited for the cone structures, trash cans, concrete table tops, and picnic tables and General for painting on one of the two large walls where you submit a sketch, use a minimum of 3 people to complete the job in a time period selected.
