Santa Monica Bike Path
The Santa Monica portion of the bike path runs just South of Chautauqua Blvd at the North end of Santa Monica to Marine Avenue (where Barnard Way curves away from the path). The path separates pedestrians from the bikes, but on busy days, watch out for the wayward ped walking out into bike traffic. There are plenty of places to lock up your bike and walk around, especially at the Pier. The pier has good parking, and there is plentiful parking south of the pier. You can find food, refreshments, carnival activities and thrill rides as well on the pier.
Santa Monica Bike Path South of the Pier
There are many hotels near the beach path for vacationers in Santa Monica.
If you choose to stay at one of the nearby hotels, you will find fun, sun, surf, shopping, dining, and more all within walking or biking distance.
The path will take you under the pier and past the Travelling Rings sets and wind you through a grassy section of park (Barnard Way and Dorothy Green parks). You will also pass by several places where you can stop and eat such as the Perrys Cafe locations along the path and the numerous eateries at the Pier.
